whats up?

So whats up my people? Who has been watching " Project Runway"? The line from last weeks show "halla at your boys" comes to mind just now... So "Halla!" I must say that I have been watching a lot of reality shows and other things. I have seen more than 3 different contestants on different acting jobs.. like lets take the 5th runner up on "the next food network star" he was on a episode of " the wizards of Waverly place" on Disney. Then Sam from "beauty and the geeks" was on the move "Accepted" as a frat boy. And that's just a couple of them. Why do they need actors? I'm sure that there is enough stupid people in this world to go on these shows.

Fort Bliss

So I see that fort bliss finally caved and is now going to change the drinking age to 21. I for one I'm saddened by that. The fact that they held on for so long to the belief that if you were old enough to fight for your country then you were old enough to drink. And I believe that. They can't have it both ways. Maybe they should make it that you have to be 21 to join the army. They are saying that these people that join the armed forces are mentally prepared to go out and protect and make wise decision. And at the same time telling us that they can't. The reason that is being stated is that there have been an increase in drunk driving and fighting reports. but has any one given any thought to the fact that many of the people there are on their way to Iraq? And that they might be to young to handle that kind of intentness.
So I say that for all bases that you can either have it one way or the other, but the mixed message that your sending those young people can't be good.

I'm back for the moment!

For you that are not aware of it I have been ill and been pretty much bedridden for the last three weeks.Ive been holding at the 14 lbs weight loss for two days so maybe I'm slowing down. I just downed a whole poweraid and got the motivation to get downstairs to blog. I did end up reading all three of the "twilight" books twice and my dear husband has been reading the first book out loud to me at night to help distract the pain I've been in , so I can fall asleep. I also read her new book " the host" witch was dumb. Then my sister lent me a book called "swan song" but I'm 500 pages in and its giving me nightmares! So today I'm going to give the "outlander" series a go. But with my head stuck in the sand I've only been slightly aware of the word out side of my home. I had four days of newspaper not even read in a row! Not even the Colbert Report to watch because we cut half our cable off. So as I sit in the dark of the world and live in others .....Man I quit like it in here!

"twilight"

On Monday this week I asked my niece if I could borrow this book that I knew she had. I had heard on the radio (most likely Glen Beck) say something like it was like the vampire equivalent to harry potter. At this time I was looking to get my mind of my head and needed a good distraction. At that time I made the call to borrow "twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. I received the book At my kids birthday party and put to the side and almost forgotten until my head started to throb. I picked it up and read the first 3 chapters and then my meds took over and I had to stop but that was the only reason why. The next morning I woke and then tried to figure out how I could just read all day. With my head pounding I managed to get though the morning and by noon I was reading..... WOW what a awesome book! I think Glen was wrong to put it with harry potter, just to different from each other. Their is nothing I want to say about the Book that I liked because I want you as the reader to find out every detail as it unfolds to you. I may have stayed up till $ in the morning and then turned around an got up at 7 with the kids but I want more!

Just to let you know I just convinced My brother in law to bring the second book over right know!

Mother's Day

As Mother's all over America anticipate and dread the coming of Mother's day, I had to stop myself and say "don't expect anything". As Mother's day got here and the kids got me up for breakfast in bed (a bit early) I was happy that they made the effort. And as the day progressed with gifts given, made from school, some fights that I had to break up, all and all was good. When I got to church and meet up with some of my friends the clenched smiles and wish each other happy mothers day said it all. They had had a rocky mothers day. As I listened to their stories of husbands that didn't put any thought in to the day and kids who just didn't care, I realized that I didn't know one mother who actual liked mothers day. I think I we all go in to all birthdays and holidays not expecting anything( and that means not secretly wanting thing to go how you envision them) we would all come out winners! No more feeling bad that your kids and husband are watching you do the dishes, only thankfulness that they said good morning! Because if that's all you get then that's better than nothing!
